If you are passing through our beautiful city of Colmar, enjoy a journey back in time and discover the Carrousel 1900, located on Place Rapp, in the south-eastern part of the Champ de Mars park.

To the delight of young and old alike, the Carrousel 1900 is the largest wooden horse carousel in Alsace, in France and in Europe.

With its hand-painted ceilings and twisted copper rails, the Carrousel 1900 is the perfect setting for a magical family moment. All the paintings around the carousel pay tribute to the city of Colmar: you will recognise the Rue des Marchands, the fountain on Place Rapp, the Unterlinden Museum and La Petite Venise.

Run by the Dehondt family, it is one of the very few carousels to shelter its visitors in all weathers, summer and winter alike, thanks to its unique circular gallery.

Rides cost €5 for 5 tickets, €8 for 10 tickets and €10 for 15 tickets.

The carousel is open every day from 2 pm to 7 pm except Tuesdays, and 7 days a week during the school holidays and the Christmas market season.

Whether you come with family or friends, some of you can whirl around on the carousel while the greediest sample sweet and savoury specialities (crêpes, waffles, ice creams, sweets, drinks and more) on the shaded terrace of Les Délices du Carrousel, built on many years of know-how.

These treats can be enjoyed from Wednesday to Monday, 11 am to 7 pm (also closed on Tuesdays), and 7 days a week during the school holidays and the Christmas markets.

In December and throughout the Christmas market season, you can also enjoy their "Chenille de Noël" ride, set up in the very same Champ de Mars park.
